A good webpage is concise, but covers all the things that are derirebale. These webpages do not necessarily have to be extravagant and flashy, but they are appealing to everyone; in other words they are professional. Bad webpages use too much color and/or contrasting colors that make it a strain to read what this person has written about themselves. It is also important that the webpage not be filled with excess “junk.” When I look at a webpage, I do not care about this funny video about two puppies asleep; I want to know things about the person.

Sadly, I am going to have to disagree with TamiaH, although long paragraphs may be time consuming to read, but if the person took the time to type it. It would be kind of rude to just look at their pictures. After all, you are really getting the information out of paragraphs which is what our webpage is about right?
TamiaH says:
I like it when people don’t make REALLY LONG paragraphs.
because it takes forever to read. i also hate it when people have to many words and not pictures. I like to see pictures of who and what they are talking about when they write. Its makes it easier to understand it.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:12 am
I agree with Steffanie. Having long paragraphs can be such a drag. Really, you’re just making your page look awful. And no one wants to read one of those big o’ long paragraphs. They start to get boring. I’m not saying that whoever’s webpage they’re on, well that that person is boring, it ‘s just that no one wants to read long paragraphs that drone on and on and on and on…..
(SteffanieH said: Some of the best features of a good web page is short paragrphs.)

I definitely agree with Admir a webpage with really big text or really small text is a bad webpage it usually gives me a headache trying to read a really small font
Admir said:
“The bad of a webpage is the text like, if the text is too small or too big, and also if it’s all in Cap’s.”

I totally I agree with you, Heath. It is very annoying when dividers are always streaming across with blinking colors.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:09 am
I agree with Karlee. Animations are fine but not big or all over the place.
Karlee W said:
I think she is right, to much animations going on in peoples webpages.

I agree with blake all the way. yea alot of color might make a page look dorky but no color makes it boring.
BlakeF Says:
I think a page where there is alot about the person and not a lot of random stuff on there page. Also I think that a page that has just black and white text is plain and boring like I think a page needs some color to the text.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:08 am
I agree with Steffanie because some of the best webpages have short paragraphs and not long paragraphs. and the text isn’t huge but just right so you can actually read it, and I dont like when people have big pictures that almost take up the whole page and text that is hard to read like.
(SteffanieH said: “some of the best features of a good web page is short paragrphs, text is not to big nor to small, the text can be easly read, and the page doesnt have to many different colors. some os the bad features on a web page is flashing text, glittery graphics, small text, big text, and big pictures”)

I agree with Sara NI dont like things moving all over the place and keeps blinking to where you can hardly see what it is saying.
Sara N says
I really dislike it when someone puts a really BIG thing that just happens to be moving all over.

That’s a good point Tamia because if a page just has really long paragraphs and nothing else then it’s not as interesting and would take forever to read. Also, there should be something else just besides long paragraphs on the page.
(TamiaH said:

i agree the pictures should be big enough you can see wat they are but they shouldent take up the whole page. your information should be the main part of your web page. the text also needs to be big enough to read but it doesnt need to be huge. if you have to big of text it makes your page look childish. you want you page to display how smart you are nd how much you know about tecnology. not to say im a four year old.
NathalyE Says:
I think that the best website should have bullet form stuff about you so that people will read it, make your pictures not so big but like a picture about you can some what big enough so people can see it. also have enough writing about yourself and it should be at the top because people are going to want to know who you are. I think a bad website would be one with alot of colors like a rainbow type thing, or one that starts with the same song over and over again. Also try to keep your page nice and organized because if you have all kinds of stuff everywhere on your page no ones going to know what your trying to say or who they are reading about.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:04 am
I agree with Chris. The background colors shouldn’t interrupt the text.
ChrisP said:
Some good features of a good web page are that the background does not interrupt the text, text is big enough to read, but not too big, link colors coordinate with page colors, links are underlined so they are instantly clear to the visitor, buttons are not big and dorky, every graphic has an alt label, navigation buttons and bars are easy to understand and use, navigation is consistent throughout web site.
Some bad things that are not good for a web page are that default gray color,
color combinations of text and background that make the text hard to read, text that is too small to read, text crowding against the left edge, default blue links, blue link borders around graphics, Junky advertising.

Qualities of a bad page are a lot. If everything is in a random area (like talking about food and then politics), it doesn’t make much sense. I’m not very good at making web pages since this is my first, but I think I’ve figured out what some bad qualities are. When everything is just flashy and big, you don’t really think this person paid more attention to the more important parts of the text. When one thing is on there a lot or very big, it outweighs the other stuff, making it less awesome.
November 17th, 2009 at 9:03 am
I agree with ryan because if you dont have alot of writing about that person people will think that he/she doesnt want anyone to know them or something like that.

I agree with Tamia=. Because who really wants to read some really long paragraphs that just sometimes gets you lost on what they are talking about.

I totally agree with Rondell this sentence totally sums up what everyone is trying to say that it’s not all the pictures or games you put on your site its the words.
Rondell said:

I agree, you dont want to have a webpage that takes a long time to load up, people wouldn’t want to come to your page anymore because it takes to long to load up.

Sara is right. Having two of the same color-contrast is really hard to read, and it just don’t look good.

I agree with that we should just have our web pages plain and simple, also easy to read.
We should have appropriate text size and colors because we want our page to look good for the viewers. If we have large animated graphics and the words are hard to read due to colors or size does make a bad web page. Its a destraction to the viewers.

BrittanyL Says:
I noticed that it said that blinking colorful dividers are bad. I used to have those and when I took them off, my page looked a whole lot better. I don’t like when I go to someones page and I can’t read anything because of the font or backround. I don’t like when the page is really long, and theres tons of paragraphs and you have to keep scrolling, and scrolling and scrolling. My page, you don’t have to scroll that much and it’s all black and white so it looks really organized. I still have to fix a few things though.
I have to agree with Brittany right there. I mean when I look at my page and see the colorful, blinking dividers it really distracts the viewers. Thanks Brittany for pointing that out and the others too.

I agree with Matt V about big and little text. that is what will mess up your page.

I agree with all that brandon has said.
once we start trying to make our page not dorky they will come out boring. Then no ones gonna want to look at them and they are all going to look alike.
November 17th, 2009 at 8:59 am
I agree if theirs tooo many pictures you lose your words. If theirs to many words you lose your audience.
HunterH says:
(I would say the same thing, except I wouldn’t put too much writing, but Hey it’s your own opinion. I would say that not too much words or pictures is good.:D)

I think Jerodius was right becaause pages are better if they have new and different things on it every once in a while because it makes you want to go back to it.I also agree that a page is better if you can see everything clear withput having to strain to look at it.

November 17th, 2009 at 8:57 am

I think she is right, to much animations going on in peoples webpages. We are not here to say your page is bad or ugly, we are here to make your pages better, more flowing, A.K.A not dorky. So the whole color on color text, dork not good. Make it plain and simple. Animations don’t make it look better some make it look bad. I had an pretty bad page when we first stared, I thought lets put in alot of animations to make it look better. I thought the more animations the better my page looked, but I was wrong, it makes it so not good( it makes it down right dorky). Next time say is my page hard to read, is the text to small, is there to much animations going on here, or ect. Ask a friend next time and say what do you think of my page and be honest, tell me what I can do to make my page look good.
